How to Use Epsom Salt For Acne (Simple and Effective)

The best way to remove blemishes and treat acne with Epsom salt is to make a solution called a poultice. A poultice is made by crushing herbs or material from plants or other natural substances and adding warm water or natural oils to make a paste. This paste can then be applied directly to the skin and covered with a piece of clean cloth.

Epsom Salt Acne Treatment

There are a ton of ways to use Epsom salt, including baths, poultices, foot soaks, splinter removal, hair care, and the list goes on, but here we will look at some of the more common ways to use Epsom salt for acne.

Epsom Salt Bath:

Dissolve one to two cups (depending on tub size) of Epsom salt in a bathtub. Be sure the Epsom salt is completely dissolved before you get in so that your skin can absorb it easily. Enjoy relaxing in the water for about 15 minutes. After your relaxing bath, rinse off to get rid of any excess salt residue.

Epsom Salt Mask

Here are a few different Epsom salt mask ideas you can use to treat your acne:

  1. Combine one tablespoon of Epsom salt with one tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of olive oil, and add just a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this to your face. Let it stay for about 15 minutes. Rinse off the mask and moisturize your skin afterwards.

  2. Add a teaspoon of Epsom salt to a cup of warm water. Stir until the salt fully dissolves. Apply it to your face. Let it sit until it dries, then rinse off the salt residue, and remember to moisturize.

  3. For people with normal or oily skin, mix 1 egg, juice from 1 lemon, half a teaspoon of Epsom salt, and (if you have it) 1/4 cup of non-fat dry milk. For dry skin, mix 1/4 cup grated carrots, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise, and 1/2 teaspoon Epsom salt. Apply your mask to moist skin and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly afterward (use less lemon juice if your skin is very sensitive).

Epsom Salt Warm Compress

This one is really easy! In a cup of warm water, dissolve two tablespoons of Epsom salt. Soak a bath cloth, and use it to apply the compress to your skin. Leave it on your face till it begins to cool off. Finally, rinse off the salty residue afterwards.

Augment Your Epsom Salt Treatment With Additional Natural Acne Treatments
